Background and Interests:

 

  • Elijah Davis began his college career at Pellissippi State Community College as part of an affordable college outreach. During this time he designed and built a functioning concept, hydrogen-powered vehicle, and competed in IEEE national robotics competition for the college. Shortly after  starting classes at UTK, he began undergraduate research for Dr. Mukherjee. During this time, he assisted in multiple projects from drug delivery NPs to electrocatalysis and finally his research in ENMs, which obtained an award for outstanding research through the college. For his capstone project Elijah interfaced with a team from the nuclear department and together they worked with ORNL to develop and build a Rapid Transport System for conducting radioactive experiments in their new neutron source. It earned the award for innovative design. In his current position, over the past few years, he has worked closely with experts from around the country including ARL, NIST, and UCR in the discovery and development of a new type of ENM which has the potential of revolutionizing the field. Elijah also ran a business rebuilding and restoring antique motorcycles and cars for clients, one of which was showcased in the Knoxville Museum of Art.
